Fender Jazz bass - 86
Fender Jazz Bass
1971

(Maple neck, 100% original)

This bass is one of the most expertly-crafted, well-known and commonly played bass guitars in the world. It's best suited for vintage sounds, jazz and country songs, soft and melodic arrangements and retro pop songs. The Motown sound can be imitated with the neck pickup, the bridge pickup has a Jaco Pastorius tone for that early fusion sound, and the two pickups combined create a full range of sound suitable for any kind of pop music popular during the '60s, '70s and early '80s including: reggae (think Aston "Family Man" Barrett of the Wailers, who owns the same model), funk, R&B, country, and rock (John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin plays one).

Fender Jazz Bass American Standard 1986
(Rosewood neck, EMG pickups)

This is a Jazz Bass with a modern twist provided by its EMG pickups. I usually use it to get some more juice out of the standard Jazz Bass sound by using the active electronics and always playing on a new set of strings. This bass is suitable for almost any kind of modern music, keeping in mind that it will always have some more presence in the final mix. It works well with heavy metal, pick playing, strong R&B, '90s and 2000s popular music, some Latin-oriented pop songs, alternative and modern progressive, fusion.

Schecter California Custom Jazz Model 2001
(Maple with EMG pickups)

Modern and hand-made, the manufacturing process for this bass includes higher quality woodwork than your average Fender guitar. Plus, it has a better design which includes a lot more wood than the previously mentioned basses. It actually sounds more like a modern handmade guitar, so we usually use it for tracking a fancy production. The suitable style is not specific, but we prefer to play slap with it because it's much more balanced. Each pickup sounds rich and fat on its own, much more than the normal Jazz Bass switched to the same active electronic setup.

Warwick Streamer LX4 1993
(Fretted Wenge Fingerboard. MEC Active pickups , 1 J 1 P)

The Warwick Streamer LX4, made in Germany, is the most versatile bass guitar they've ever designed. The bridge Jazz pickup and the P neck pickup can be combined or used individually to make several, entirely different sounds. It fits a wide range of musical styles from heavy metal to rock, fusion and modern progressive, plus all kinds of Latin styles (Latin-oriented pop songs, Brazilian, Caribbean, modern Cuban, Puerto Rican, etc). The sound is unique, and the state of the art active electronics make the recording clean and noiseless. You'll never notice any hum, buzz or hiss, especially when compared to the typical Jazz Bass with one pickup.
